THE Lethbridge Arms, a historic pub in Taunton, has been announced as a 2024/25 Good Food Award Winner, receiving the Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes.

The Lethbridge Arms, located in Gore Square, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton is a 16th century village inn with an authentic Thai restaurant nestled comfortably inside.

The pub is ranked first for Thai restaurants in Somerset and in the top five rated restaurants in Taunton on TripAdvisor, with over 500 five-star reviews and celebrated a 5* food hygiene rating in May.

In terms of food, the pub offers a vast array of delicious Thai dishes, including the fan favourite Pad Thai meal, which are all cooked by chef Amy Gratton fresh to order - ready to meet the individual spice preferences of each visitor.

The Lethbridge Arms also has a “lovely” beer garden outside and private overnight accommodation upstairs, which includes six letting rooms for those who wish to make a full night of their visit.

As a part of the November Good Food Awards announcement, the Lethbridge Arms was successfully awarded the Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes and was described by the judges as a “must visit restaurant”.

Manager and owner Sarah Snowden said: "The team at The Lethbridge especially Amy Gratton, our fabulous chef, are thrilled."

The Good Food Awards celebrate and acknowledge culinary diversity throughout the United Kingdom. Established in 2002, the awards recognise all the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their respective fields.

A spokesperson for the Good Food Awards said: “At the heart of what we do is a commitment to honour local independent businesses that create delicious dishes.

“We believe these establishments are the backbone of our communities, deserving of recognition for their hard work and dedication.”

Chosen for a restaurant's food quality, service and value, the “prestigious” Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes is bestowed upon those with high customer ratings/votes and is “purely based on merit and spotlighting the most deserving”.
