Many dog and cat owners are reluctant to board their pets when they go off on a well-earned holiday, but sometimes, needs must - writes Jacqui Budd for St Giles Animal Welfare.
My husband and I discovered St Giles Pet Boarding a few years ago and can highly recommend them.
Like others, we were initially nervous, worried our dogs might be anxious and unsettled, but how wrong we were.
St Giles Animal Welfare have a five-star rated boarding kennel and cattery, of which they are very proud.
The aim of the facility is to provide a home-from-home environment, where your pet can feel cosy, safe, and loved.
There is a large selection of suite layouts to suit your dog, with underfloor heating available.
A quiet block is available for older or nervous dogs.
On-site paddocks enable your pet to explore and exercise, and lots of toys are available to entertain.
The cattery has raised sleeping areas, which are fully insulated, heated, and have soft bedding for snuggling.
Your cat will also be serenaded throughout the day with serene and calming music.
Dogs and cats can be as fussy as we are when it comes to food preferences.
St Giles respect this and will follow guidance as to your pet's dietary foibles.

Sky the Terrier
Sky is a lovely little terrier; she is looking for a rural home with energetic owners who can give her lots of time and continue with her obedience training.
She is nervous with household noises, people knocking at the door or walking past, and needs patience and understanding to gain confidence.
She is nervous around other dogs, so ideally would need to be the only pet in the household.
Pending meet and greet, she may be able to live with children of 12+.
She has made a lot of progress since arriving at the centre and with the right human to help her, she will grow in confidence.
Sweet-natured, she has an abundance of affection ready to give.
Can you offer Sky her forever home?
