ARRESTS were made in Taunton after three men were found on suspicion of possessing and using cocaine.

Occurring at two different properties, two men were arrested yesterday (Wednesday, November 13).

The two arrests were made at two different locations in Taunton, with two men first found in a flat in Bathpool after neighbourhood officers went to check on someone's welfare.

The person in question was not at the residence and one of the two men the officers first found fled the property after being found on suspicion of the class A drug.

The other man was arrested.

The second incident occurred later at Yallands Hill, as another man in his late teens, and from Cheltenham, was arrested at 12:45pm, also due to suspicion of possessing cocaine.

Both arrested men have since been released on bail.

After reaching out, a spokesperson from the Avon and Somerset Police provided a statement from yesterday's incident: "Neighbourhood officers went to a flat in Bathpool near Taunton just after midday on Wednesday 13 November to check on someone's welfare.

"The householder was not there, but officers found two men present, along with what's believed to be cocaine.

"One man fled the property.

"A man in his twenties of no fixed abode was arrested from the address on suspicion of possessing cocaine.

"He was later further arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and obstruction.

"A second man, in his late teens and from Cheltenham, was arrested at about 12:45pm on Yallands Hill, Monkton Heathfield, also on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

"Both men were released on police bail pending further enquiries, with a condition not to enter Taunton.

"Officers have spoken to the person they were checking on, who is safe and well."
