TEMPORARY speed detectors have been installed on three Taunton roads.
Taunton town council said the speed indicator devices are now in place on Bossington Drive, Kingston Road, and Stoke Road.
They will stay in place “for a few weeks” before being moved on to other locations.
They help encourage considerate driving and log speeding incidents to keep residents safe, a spokesperson for the council said.
Cllr Tom Deakin, leader of Taunton Town Council, said: “I've spoken with many residents and staff/parents from Nerrols Primary School who are concerned about speeding in our area.
“I'm really pleased to have been able to work with the Taunton Town Council team to place a Speed Indicator Device (SID) at the top of Nerrols Drive.
“The device will face one way for a couple of weeks, then the other before being rotated to another site and returning in the future.
“There are also devices on Kingston Road and Stoke Road.
“Not only do the devices encourage safer driving, but they also store data on the frequency of speeding in particular problem areas.
“Let me know if you have a location that suffers from speeding, and I will pass this onto the team to add to the list.”
