The Brewhouse Theatre is a wonderful facility right on our doorstep, treating us to a tremendous array of plays, musical performances, exhibitions, and workshops - writes Jacqui Budd for St Giles Animal Welfare.
Vickie Robbins, the Brewhouse’s Executive Director, has two rescue dogs and supports St Giles wholeheartedly, including hosting fundraising events at the Brewhouse.
One of these, both this year and last, is a quiz night fundraiser for St Giles Animal Welfare.
She is aware of the great work they do, having previously been involved with the homeless charity Arc where she was responsible for the pets of the homeless and those in Arc accommodation.
St Giles were great in offering their support when difficulties arose; Vickie has not forgotten their kindness.
The Brewhouse has a popular and welcoming dog-friendly café.
In June, a doggie coffee morning took place when pooches of all shapes and sizes graced the café and revelled in each other’s company.
It was delightful, and St Giles were invited to sell their wares and promote the sterling work they do.
If you are in the vicinity, take your canine companion along to the café and treat them to a puppachino, doggie ice cream, or some free treats.
It is hoped that another doggie coffee morning involving doggie delicacies might be forthcoming in the not too distant future – I will keep you informed.
Sky the Terrier
Sky is a lovely little terrier; she is looking for a rural home with energetic owners who can give her lots of time and continue with her obedience training.
She is nervous with household noises, people knocking at the door or walking past, and needs patience and understanding to gain confidence.
She is nervous around other dogs, so ideally would need to be the only pet in the household.
Pending meet and greet, she may be able to live with children of 12+.
She has made a lot of progress since arriving at the centre and with the right human to help her, she will grow in confidence.
Sweet-natured, she has an abundance of affection ready to give.
Can you offer Sky her forever home?
