A PROPERTY fire was reported to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services this morning (November 18) at 3.05am in Frome.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services received multiple calls about a garage on fire located on Orchardleigh View, Frome.
The crew from Frome station mobilised three pumps immediately from Frome and Warminster (Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service).
Once in attendance, crews confirmed a seven meter by seven meter garage that was "well alight" and immediately got to work battling the blaze.
The crew took four hours to put out the flames and ensure there were no lingering hotspots, updating the report a final time at 7.43 am this morning.
In terms of equipment used, the crew worked with two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, and one main jet to extinguish and prevent the fire spreading further.
The fire has now been fully extinguished and the cause is believed to be accidental, however, the garage and all its contents were fully destroyed by the fire.
Before leaving the scene, the team also fully checked the house to make sure the flames hadn’t spread.
"The double garage was separate from the house but 100 per cent of the garage and contents were destroyed by the fire," a spokesperson from the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services said.
