Two Monkton Wood Academy students recently competed in a national sailing contest in Southport.
Year 10's Harvey Scott and Year 9's Charlie Scott earned their spots after winning two previous regional events.
The national competition saw young cadets from across the UK, from London to Scotland, showcasing the best in youth sailing.
Harvey and Charlie's journey to the national stage was the result of months of rigorous training.
Since March, the pair have been racing weekly at the Bristol Corinthians Yacht Club at Cheddar Reservoir, dedicating Wednesday evenings to improving their skills.
From May to September, they also trained on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Charlie competed in the highly competitive Pico class, finishing fifth out of eight racers.
This achievement was particularly impressive as the four sailors who finished ahead of him were all members of the Youth GB Sailing Team.
Harvey, who served as the helm of a double-hander RS Quest junior boat, finished eighth out of 14 teams.
A Monkton Wood spokesperson said: "Both Harvey and Charlie have shown exceptional dedication and sportsmanship, and their achievements are a source of pride for Monkton Wood Academy.
"We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these talented sailors."
