IN a statement released this week, the owners at The Allerford Inn have confirmed that they have been awarded five stars for hygiene.
The Allerford Inn, near Taunton, reopened in September following a change of ownership, with the previous owners leaving after a 10 year stint.
The watering hole is described as a “gorgeous country pub” in Norton Fitzwarren and has undergone some new changes since it reopened.
The pub even crafted its cider brand for people in Somerset to try - which has a Deer as the logo, representing the pub’s emblem.
This week on Friday, November 15, the Somerset pub owners revealed they had been awarded a five star rating for their food hygiene.
The Allerford Inn has been awarded five stars in the past by the Food Standards Agency.
Back in 2022, the pub was awarded 'very good' for Hygienic food handling, and good for Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and Management of food safety.

The popular drinking spot is rated highly on Tripadvisor, with an average rating of 4 and a half out of 5 stars.
"Wonderful country pub with a lush carvery," said one user on Tripadvisor. "Great atmosphere, will definitely be back! Good service, a great menu and a really great selection of beers."
Another customer at The Allerford Inn spoke about their experience at the pub via Tripadvisor: "I've never written a TripAdvisor review before... I've literally signed up just to write this review.
"I was part of a birthday meal this Sunday and the food was absolutely amazing.
"really really nice roast dinner, we had a lovely chap serve us - I think his name was James or Jack??
"I told the young man what a lovely meal it was and he asked me to write a review... so here it is! thank you Allerford Inn. A really nice birthday meal... we will defo be back!"
