A FLOOD alert for East Somerset rivers has been issued today November 19 warning any affected people to act immediately. Areas most at risk include the B3151 Glastonbury to Meare road and along Glastonbury Millstream from Lovington to Highbridge.
River levels on the River Brue at Lovington are rising with flooding expected from noon today.

Areas at risk include roads in Catsham, Cowbridge and West Lydford and the B3151 Glastonbury to Meare road. Properties on Dyehouse Lane, Glastonbury, are also at risk.
Overtopping is forecast from the Glastonbury Millstream and the River Brue at North Drain and Westhay. The River Brue is forecast to be bankful upstream of Bruton Dam bur field flooding is unlikely.
Further rainfall is expected today, so river levels will remain high.
"Further rainfall is forecast this evening," according to the alert. "We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely and checking rivers for blockages."
People affected should "act immediately" and activate any property flood products they may have. They should also avoid walking, cycling, and driving through any flood water.
