SOMERSET has "shined" at the AA's Caravan and Camping Awards with two campsites awarded as some of the best UK outdoor accommodation sites for 2025.
The awards recognised 12 standout locations, handpicked by the AA’s inspectors for quality, customer service, and that "wow" factor travellers seek.
Categories included AA Glamping Site of the Year, AA Campsite of the Year, and AA Most Improved Campsite of the Year.
This year’s winners span the UK, from the rich history and sweeping views from the Isle of Anglesey in Wales to the stunning ancient woodlands nestled within the South Downs of West Sussex.
Old Oaks Touring Park:
Located close to Glastonbury Tor and with scenic views towards the Mendip Hills, Old Oaks was described as an "exceptional" adults-only park.
Old Oaks' commitment to the environment was highlighted, as the park uses electric park vehicles and mowers; locally sourced shop produce; and beekeeping courses.
The site is used as an option for the Glastonbury Festival, as it is just a 1.5-mile walk from Glastonbury.
AA awarded Old Oaks its AA Sustainable Park of the Year 2025 award.
You can find Old Oaks at Wick Farm, Wick Ln, Glastonbury, BA6 8JS.

Speaking about Old Oaks winning the AA sustainable park of the year, a spokesperson from the AA said: "Wow! What an excellent offering paired with great pride from James and Tara White, a real pleasure to visit stated our inspector.
"Old Oaks Touring & Glamping is an exceptional, adults-only park divided up into several beautifully landscaped areas with superb touring pitches, luxury glamping accommodation and top-class facilities.
"Sustainability is at the heart of the business; James and Tara have developed the park with ecology at the forefront of everything that they do, minimizing the impact on resources while enhancing the natural environment in and around the park.
"The smart facility blocks have been built using traditional materials and the latest energy efficient technologies, including solar thermal hot water systems, heat recovery systems, air source heat pumps, and low energy LED lighting.
"It’s the perfect ‘get away from it all’ spot where you can enjoy outdoor pursuits or simply relax."
Hadspen Glamping:
Hadspen's Glamping Site is a site that offers both camping and glamping within the county of Somerset.
The site offers a "luxury" camping getaway from life - and visitors consider staying at the spot due to how close it is to Glastonbury Festival.
AA awarded Hadspen its AA Glamping Site of the Year 2025 award.
Hadspen is just a short distance away from Castle Cary Station (2.8 miles) and pickups and drop-offs can be arranged with the site.
You can find Hadspen Glamping at Lime Kiln Ln, Castle Cary, BA7 7NX.
Speaking about Hadspen being its Glamping Site Of the Year for 2025, a spokesperson from the AA said: "Disconnect with city life, reconnect with nature and unwind in luxury’ sums up the ethos of this idyllic, get-away haven deep in the Somerset countryside close to Castle Cary.
"Set on a hillside with stunning views, the three beautifully furnished canvas eco-lodges welcomed their first guests in May 2023.
"Sustainability is at the heart of this unique off-grid glamping experience, successfully providing all the comforts of home without mains gas or electricity; the lodges are lit with solar power and heated with sustainable wood-fired stoves and LPG gas. Firewood comes from their own woodland, water
from a private borehole, and there is no WiFi.
"There’s excellent food (breakfast/picnic) and drinks’ hampers, sourced from
local farm shops, which can be pre-booked when finalising
your stay.
"Next door is the award-winning Newt (membership required), set in the grounds of Hadspen House, with its garden café, farm shop, and magnificent gardens.
"Hadspen is our stand-out glamping site for 2024–25.”
