A funeral director has been named a finalist for two prestigious awards.
Amanda-Louise Knight, owner of Amanda-Louise Funeral Services in Minehead, has been recognised for her contribution to the funeral industry and her community.
She is a finalist for the Green Business of the Year Award, with the winner to be announced on November 28 at a gala in Plymouth.
Ms Knight is also a finalist in the West Country Women's Awards 2024.
She founded Amanda-Louise Funeral Services with a vision to revolutionise the funeral industry.
She said: "When I founded this business, my ethos has always been to care for the living, the departed and our environment."
The business is known for its compassionate approach and high-quality service.
Amanda-Louise Funeral Services was welcomed in September into the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), a testament to their high standard of service and traditional approach to communities.
This membership followed a thorough inspection of their funeral home and quality compliance.
Ms Knight added: "I'm thrilled to be part of the SAIF Association.
"It's proven that we ensure all our clients are treated with care, respect and are safe, at all times."
In September 2024, Ms Knight was recognised at the Good Funeral Awards, where she was a runner-up for the Yearly Achievement Award.
Her recognition at the West Country Women's Awards in the Green Business of the Year Award category acknowledges her efforts in leading a successful, woman-led business that prioritises sustainable practices and environmental solutions.
The West Country Women's Awards aim to celebrate the achievements of remarkable women across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset.
They highlight the impact women are making in various fields, from business to social activism.
Nominees learn if they have advanced to each stage of the awards, with winners being revealed at the end of the month at the Crown Plaza in Plymouth.
The Green Business of the Year Awards is also set to announce its winner on November 28.
The event will celebrate the achievements of businesses that have significantly contributed to the environment.
