Cowl Street in Shepton Mallet will be closed temporarily for three days in order to conduct essential sewer maintenance.
Somerset Council made the announcement, allowing Wessex Water to survey and clean sewers.
The closure, spanning 192 metres from the junction of Gold Hill to Bath Road, will be in effect from December 9 to December 11, between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
It was revealed in a public notice posted on the Public Notice Portal on Thursday, November 21.
To alleviate disruption caused by the closure, an alternative route will be available, and drivers are advised to visit one.network for further details.
However, a free registration with One.Network may be required to view closures more than two weeks ahead.
For more information about the works, residents can contact Wessex Water at 0345 600 4600, quoting reference number ttro311210E.
The statement of reasons for the closure cites the need for works to be carried out on or near the road and the potential danger to the public or risk of serious damage to the road, unrelated to the works.
