A SOMERSET pub's owner has revealed that their pub is "safe and dry" after Storm Bert forced them to cancel over 300 bookings at the weekend.
The Allerford Inn, near Taunton, was one of many county pubs that had to halt service this past weekend (November 24) due to torrential conditions caused by Storm Bert.
Owned by Shane Fisher and Abi Fisher, the pub had to turn away over 300 booked guests due to being unable to deal with the flooding in the area.
The Allerford Inn is described by many as a “gorgeous country pub” in Norton Fitzwarren, just outside of Taunton.
The pub is continuing to serve its locals and new customers by keeping the tradition of having the carvery available every Sunday.
This month, it was also revealed that the Allerford Inn had been awarded a five-star rating for their food hygiene.

In addition to missing out on over 300 paying guests last weekend, The Allerford's owners showed the "sad demise" of a rained-off Sunday.
The team had 16 Roast Joints in total - all cooked, wrapped, and ready to go - with a large amount of that still in the fridge now.
"A huge thank you to the community for the support," said Allerford Inn owner, Shane Fisher. "The pub is now safe and dry.
"Flood drainage systems have been put in place and it's only the carpark - in terrible, storm circumstances (like Burt) that will affect it."
The Allerford Inn officially reopened for business yesterday evening (November 25).
Shane added" We could have opened yesterday, but we could not house the 300+ people that had booked due to the lack of parking and the general area being so affected.
"Here's to a big week ahead, come and support a local, community pub and enjoy fantastic, fresh food in newly decorated rooms by a nice warm fire."
You can find the Allerford Inn at Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, TA4 1AL.
