The new clinic opening in Wincanton Hospital will be running from 9am-5pm every Tuesday for all contraceptive and sexual health needs from the public.

This will not be a walk-in clinic however, the SWISH team still request that all bookings are done via their booking line or through their website.

Tania Collin, matron at Wincanton Community Hospital, which is run by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are very pleased to welcome our Somerset-Wide Integrated Sexual Health (SWISH) colleagues to Wincanton Community Hospital. This is one of a number of new clinics that have been introduced in our hospital outpatients department, providing far easier access to healthcare for people in Wincanton and the surrounding area.”

Kerry Lucas, a nurse practitioner at SWISH, which is also run by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, added: “The Somerset-Wide Integrated Sexual Health (SWISH) has been providing sexual health care within Somerset since 2016. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to look after their sexual health, so we’ve reviewed the locations of our clinics across Somerset, and with the help and support of our Wincanton hospital colleagues, we’re now able to offer a weekly clinic to serve the local community."
