GLASTONBURY'S Christmas event is set to launch this weekend, bringing live music, games, and the switch-on of the Glastonbury Christmas lights.

With events happening all over town, road closures, and big crowds expected, you'll need to plan ahead. So, here's everything you need to know about the Glastonbury Frost Fayre 2024:

When will it start:

The event will start this Saturday, November 30 and run from 10am to 6pm.

This includes a grand opening by the town Mayor at 12pm on Saturday on the "amazing" melodrome stage.

Events will then take place across the following streets for the fayre.

High Street: Packed with outdoor stalls, live entertainment, and festive shopping.

St Dunstan's Car Park: Fairground rides and family-friendly fun.

St Mary's Hall, Magdalene Street: Workshops, shows, and performances for children.

St John's Church, United Reformed Church, Abbey House, and St Benedict's Church: Hosting indoor markets and family activities.

Magdalene Street, Benedict Street, Northload Street, and Archer's Way: Hosting live music stages and street performances.

Eating at this year's event:

The Frost Fayre is a one-stop shop for unique Christmas gifts. Stalls along the High Street will feature handmade crafts, street food, festive treats, artisan goods, and more, while indoor markets at key locations provide even more choice:

St Benedict's Church: Crafts, food, and fun for younger ones.

United Reformed Church: Santa's Café, a tombola, and record fayre.

St John's Church: Mulled wine and seasonal refreshments, as well as a cake stall run by St John's Infant School PTA.

Assembly Rooms: Arts and crafts.

Hungry? Grab a BBQ burger (veggie options available) at St Benedict's PTFA or warm up with hot chocolate and mulled wine at St John's Church.

Parking and travel warning:

Glastonbury will be, as expected, very busy on Frost Fayre day, and parking is always at a premium.

Visitors are encouraged to use the Park and Ride service from Herbie's Field, running from 8:30am to 6:30pm, or make use of St Dunstan's School Car Park and other town car parks.

Herbie's Field closes at 7 pm, so plan your return accordingly.

Parking is also available at:

St Dunstan's School Car Park

Town car parks

Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On:

At 5 pm, the Mayor of Glastonbury will lead the official lighting of the Market Square Christmas Tree, one of the events many are looking forward to.

Getting to the Market Square early is best to make sure you can grab a spot and enjoy the Glastonbury Brass Band, who will be performing seasonal favourites from 4:15 pm around the tree.

Meet Santa:

There is also a chance to meet Santa at this year's event as Santa's Grotto is open at the United Reformed Church.

You can meet Father Christmas from 12pm to 3pm at a price of £4 per child.

St Dunstan's Car Park is also hosting a range of fairground rides and more.
