LANGPORT care home Ashley House has been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission following its latest inspection — a previous inspection found that it required improvement.
The care home, run by South West Care Homes Ltd at The Avenue, Langport, was rated Good in all inspection categories, including being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. It can care for up to 25 older people and those living with dementia.
An inspection report, published on November 26, shared findings of a visit to the home on September 10. It said improvements had been made to the breaches in staffing and "good governance" identified in April 2023.

The latest report stated: "At this assessment we found improvements had been made and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.
"Staff training had improved. Incidents and accidents were reviewed and there was a culture of learning at the service. Some areas of medicines management needed to be improved. Risk assessments identified risks to people and control measures were in place. Care plans were detailed and person centred.
"There were enough staff available to meet people’s needs. Required recruitment documents were in place for care staff, there were some gaps in recruitment records for auxiliary staff. Regular checks of the environment and equipment took place. The home was clean and infection prevention control measures were in place."
People's experience of the service was positive, with those the inspectors spoke to "very happy" living at Ashley House.
Comments from people included: "I love it here, staff are very helpful. I can't fault it and would recommend to others."
The staff were described as "really good" by residents inspectors spoke to, with comments stating that "staff can't do enough for you" and "they come quickly when you ring the bell."
