Heidi Berry has been appointed as the new head of King's College Prep.
She will take up her post in September 2025.
Ms Berry, who has a wealth of experience in the education sector, is currently serving as headteacher at Sherborne Preparatory School in Qatar.
She began her teaching career in the Midlands after completing her PGCE at Nottingham Trent University.
In 2007, she joined Sherborne Preparatory School where she was appointed head of pre-prep after three years.
In 2022, she took on the role of deputy head at Sherborne Preparatory School in Qatar, before being promoted to headteacher in 2023.
Ms Berry is also an accomplished musician, frequently singing and performing in ensembles across the South West.
She said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as the next head of King’s College Prep.
"The warmth of the community in this outstanding school shines through and I am excited to return to the South West to lead the school into the next exciting chapter of its development."
King’s Prep headmaster, Justin Chippendale, added: "It has been such a privilege to enjoy what will have been 16 years of stewardship over this wonderful school and I have no doubt Heidi will not only cherish the heritage that makes it a special place but also be a dynamic leader for the years ahead.
"I hope she gains as much fulfilment as I have."
Michael Sloan, headmaster at King’s College, who will be working closely with Ms Berry, said: "From an incredibly strong field, we were delighted to appoint Heidi.
"She is an exceptional school leader, and her impressive track record and experience is combined with energy, warmth and a deep commitment to help each child fulfil their potential.
"I am looking forward to working closely with Heidi and I know our parents, staff and pupils at the prep will warmly welcome her, Nick and their family into the King’s community in September."
Ms Berry will be relocating to the South West with her husband Nick, a GP and triathlete, and their three sons.
