A CIDER maker has supported a village pub’s pop-up bar project in Taunton town centre.

Sheppy’s Cider’s bar said they have facilitated the opening of The Chapel’s pop-up bar on Fore Street for the month of December after its opening today (Monday, December 1).

A spokesperson for Sheppy’s Cider said: “We partnered with The Chapel on a charming horsebox trailer stocked with Sheppy’s cider and other delightful drinks.

“Steve takes this trailer to local shows and events, spreading the word about Sheppy’s and the wonderful Chapel in Cotford St Luke, while ensuring everyone enjoys great cider.

“Steve's participation at the Applefest in The Orchard Shopping Centre inspired him with the idea of a pop-up tap room for the Christmas market.

“Despite the quick turnaround, Steve and Tracey [from The Chapel] have transformed the old shop into a rustic yet classy bar perfect for late night shoppers or Christmas Market customers.

“In addition to serving our cider, the tap room features arts and crafts from local business owners and Sheppy merchandise, perfect for Christmas gifts.”

Louisa Sheppy added: “Having the opportunity to use the empty Jack Wills shop in the centre of Taunton is a fantastic opportunity for Sheppy’s and we are all very excited.

“The existing shop style is perfect for us, and working with The Chapel at Cotford St Luke, we have been creating an attractive and welcoming space ready for opening on December 2."

Sheppy’s bar is based in a premises previously occupied by a Jack Wills store, which closed in January this year.

The bar will be closed on Monday, December 9, and Monday, December 16.
