Year 6 pupils at St John's Primary School in Wellington, are embarking on a virtual cycling challenge to raise funds for charity.

The students aim to cycle 2,225km using an exercise bike.

Their route includes a virtual tour from their school in Somerset to London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, and back.

It is expected to be completed over six weeks in November and December.

The chosen route links to the school's four houses: St George, St Andrew, St Patrick, and St David.

These include using maps and discussing landmarks for geography, calculating distances and tracking fundraising totals for maths, and managing their fundraising webpage and sharing their story online for computing.

It is particularly significant to the Year 6 class teacher, Mr Foster, who received support from 2wish after the sudden passing of his 15-month-old daughter, Olivia, in October 2023.
