A SOMERSET road that has been closed for over a year due to a number of "major flood events" has finally fully reopened today (Tuesday, December 3, 2024).
According to Travel Somerset, Wood Street in Milverton, has finally fully re-opened after being closed since October 2023 after a number of "major" flooding events caused an embankment to completely collapse, leading to the undermining of the road.
Recently, many other roads across the South West have faced closures too, in the wake of Storm Bert which battered Somerset in late November with severe flooding and high winds and rain.
Travel Somerset have posted about the opening of Wood Street in Milverton on their Twitter account which you can check for additional information.
