PLANS for a two-storey extension to the side of one unit at Creech Mill Estate have been submitted to Somerset Council.

It would see a two-storey extension to allow each of the bricklaying and scaffolding business entities to operate separately.

The works include extending the existing mezzanine and associated external alterations, and the erection of an extension to provide additional office space.
In a statement submitted to Somerset Council on behalf of the applicant, “the proposed development aims to provide essential facilities to support the operational needs of the scaffolding and bricklaying business”.
Unit 14 is located in the south-western corner of Creech Mill Estate. It is adjacent to the former Victorian paper mill at Creech St Michael, which was opened in 1875 and closed in 1982.
The mill was owned by the British Printing and Communications Corporation and was later acquired by the former Taunton Deane Borough Council.
