Seven newly qualified Wildcat helicopter aircrew have completed their training at RNAS Yeovilton's 825 Naval Air Squadron.
The graduation of the Wildcat HMA Course 11 took place on November 28, with rear admiral Andrew Betton, CB OBE, director of the Integrated Warfare Centre, presenting the sailors with their 'Wings' and awards.
It marked the successful culmination of weeks of studying, exams, and practical assessments.
The sailors are now set to join the 825's sister squadron, the 815 NAS, on frontline operational tasks.
The parade saw the graduation of four newly qualified Wildcat pilots: lieutenant Terry Blunt, lieutenant Dan Camp, lieutenant Alexander Walker, and lieutenant Jacob Thacker-Puglsey.
These pilots are now at the beginning of their aviation careers, ready to test the capabilities of the Wildcat helicopter.
Lieutenant Alexander Walker said: "This course has been incredibly challenging, but equally rewarding.
"Highlights include flying in formation around Scotland, landing on three different classes of Ship and training to employ the various weapons systems of the Wildcat helicopter.
"The journey to Wings is long and arduous, but that contributes to the feeling of euphoria I have now that the course is complete.
"We are all very much looking forward to joining 815 Naval Air Squadron to use the Wildcat on operations around the globe."
The parade also celebrated the successful graduation of three newly qualified observers: lieutenant Adam Armstrong, lieutenant Tim Arnstein, and lieutenant Theo Myers.
These observers are now fully trained in handling the Wildcats' navigation, communication, and weaponry systems.
They are equipped with the technical knowledge required to assist in all operational tasks.
Lieutenant Adam Armstrong said: "Wings is the culmination of over six years of training, it’s great to have finally made it.
"We’ve been lucky enough to embark in a range of platforms over the last year, most recently HMS Queen Elizabeth for our final warfighting sorties.
"I’m looking forward to deploying on HMS Lancaster at the beginning of next month."
The ceremony, attended by family and friends, recognised the sailors' achievements and gave families a glimpse into their loved ones' roles in the Fleet Air Arm.
It concluded with a solo display by one of the Black Cats Display team, showcasing the Wildcat helicopter's capabilities.
RNAS Yeovilton and all the families expressed pride in the accomplishments of the newly qualified Wildcat aircrew, who are now ready to embark on their Fleet Air Arm careers.
