THERE was a crash on the A3088 near Stoke-sub-Hamdon, leading to the emergency services closing the road between the junctions with the A303 (Cartgate Roundabout) and Western Avenue in Yeovil. 

The South Western Ambulance Service have since conveyed one patient to hospital by land ambulance to Yeovil District Hospital. 

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 21:00hrs on Tuesday 3 December to a road traffic collision near Yeovil. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, a critical care car and an operations officer to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Yeovil District Hospital.”

The emergency services responded to a collision that occurred on the night of Tuesday, December 3.

The road closure between the junctions with A303 (Cartgate Roundabout) and Western Avenue in Yeovil was reported by the Avon and Somerset Police team at around 10pm that night and the situation is still ongoing. 

The police have asked that all road users plan ahead and seek an alternative route at this time.

"We'd please ask road users seek an alternative route at this time", a spokesperson for the Avon and Somerset Police team said.
