Mark Stuart Cripps charged with theft from World of Bears

A MAN has appeared in court charged with theft from World of Bears in Taunton, which happened earlier this month.

On Thursday, June 4, World of Bears, Taunton, reported one Jellycat Larry Lobster and one Jellycat Skye Dragon being stolen from the shop – both of which were still security tagged.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said Mark Stuart Cripps, 47, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Monday, June 8.

Police confirmed he appeared in North Somerset Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 9, where he was charged.

Police said he was remanded on unconditional bail by the court pending further hearing at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on October 12 of this year.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A man has appeared in court charged with a theft from World of Bears in Taunton which happened on Thursday 4 June.

"Mark Stuart Cripps, 47, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Monday 8 June and appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 9 June, when he admitted the charge.

"He was remanded on unconditional bail by the court pending a further hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Court on 12 October."
