FOUR-and-a-half years since her last appearance, Penny Weedon made a welcome return to the Taunton and Wellington Keyboard Club meeting held at The Royal British Legion Club in Taunton on Thursday, September 25 to entertain members.
She is a very well-known organist, teacher and examiner who gives a very talented performance interspersed with humorous anecdotes about her life and experiences.
Her theme for the concert was ‘Autumn’ and her programme was a well balanced mixture of well-known songs and classical music. An interesting arrangement was her Weather Forecast Medley starting with Shine on Harvest Moon, then Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree, September in the Rain, A Foggy Day in London Town and the Thunder and Lightning Polka. Penny used two instruments for the concert, the Yamaha EL 900 M organ and Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard. This was a most enjoyable evening.
The next concert will be on Thursday, October 23, starting at 7.45pm when Sarah Foley will entertain. An alteration to the original booking means she will not be accompanied on stage by her two sisters.
