TANGENT Club from Wellington met to celebrate the Year of the Ox at West Buckland Village Hall on Monday February 9.
The Hall was wonderfully decorated with yellow and red flowers on the tables and lots of colourful decorations and flowers.
Mrs Sylvia Fellgett, Mrs Marcia Paul and Mrs Janet Hacley had organised the event in co-operation with Mrs Ng from the New Orient in South Street, Wellington.
The three ladies had made the Chinese food for sixty people and the entertainment that followed was organised by Mrs Ng.
The pictures show dancing performed by Charlotte Reynolds, Nicole Ma, Sherry Lau and Amy Kwo.
The students who performed were from Wellington School and Taunton School and much applause was given to the Dragon Dance.
Mr and Mrs Ng have been involved with the Chinese Association in the area with members numbering about 300. Mr Stephen Ng is the Chairman at present.
Also present at the event, and welcomed by Mrs Hilary Shove, Chairman of Wellington Tangent Club, was the National President of Tangent Clubs, Mrs Pat Paulson and her husband Mike who had travelled to the event through heavy rain, floods and snow!
