THE Inn at Sampford, near Wellington, will revert to its former name The Beambridge Inn with an open day on Sunday.
Landlords Craig and Karen Holmes, who decided on the name change balloting customers, said: “We’ve been amazed at how passionate local people are about one of their landmarks.”
Music will be supplied Tone Valley Stomper Jazz Band, Court Field School bands and singer Miranda.
Wellington Museum will provide local historical information and photographs, there will be a falconry display and Wellington Majorettes will perform.
Proceeds from the event, which includes a hog roast and balloon race, will be shared among several local groups, including the museum and Sampford Arundel’s Village Fete Fund.
