TAUNTON Shares Club is for those who have experience investing in stocks and shares, as well as those new to this form of investment. Club spokesperson, John Jarrett says: “The past ten months have been exceptionally good for buying shares, as prices have been low and dividend yields high. There are still opportunities, but buyers need to safeguard their investments by using certain criteria to assess a number of companies before committing their hard-earned cash to any one stock.” John says people with years of experience are welcome and can advise beginners. But all members can learn from each other.
This is a new social club, which starts on Thursday October 8, 8pm, at the Pearce Suite, Memorial Hall, Church Road, Trull. The first night is free.
There will also be an on-going investment course at the club for those who wish to familiarise themselves with the basics of investing. This costs £5 per club night. Students can join this at anytime between October and April 2010. For further information, phone John Jarrett on 01823-257634.
