FOR the first meeting of the New Year, 17 members, including a new member from Othery, enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Royal Oak, Stoke St Gregory. The evening started with everyone sharing jokes from the crackers and finished with homemade mince pies. The food and company were excellent and special thanks go to Nicola’s mum who came out of retirement to cook the meals, as the Royal Oak’s new chef doesn’t start until the end of January.
The February meeting will be back in Burrowbridge Village Hall at 7.30pm on Monday February 15. The speaker will be Tristan Blacker who will show slides of the Rain Forrest and speak about his experiences there. The competition this month will be a photo of a tree and new members are always welcome to join.
