A group of dads who take their children to a government child care programme have written and recorded their own CD celebrating the joys of fatherhood.
Tony Escott, from Beacon, Ian Parsons, from Troon, and Reuben Rowe, Russell Hazelden and Stephen Moreton, from Camborne, attend the monthly SaturDAD sessions with their children at the creche and nursery run by Sure Start in Trevu Road, Camborne.
They have worked with local band, Solution, in which another of the "SaturDADs," Phil Hills, plays, to produce the CD which features the song "1st Time."
The song's lyrics were written by the dads and reflect their feelings about fatherhood. The project has been given a £5,000 grant from the Millenium Awards Trust, which hands out National Lottery money.
The CD will be released on June 10, in time for Father's Day, and will be officially launched at a special party at the Lowenac Hotel the same day. The launch party will include the first public performance of "1st Time" by the SaturDADS and band Solution.
