A CHEQUE for over £8,000 raised by Spar during the world's biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer relief has been handed over at the store's Falmouth branch.
Calvin Lovelock (left), a fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Relief, accepted a cheque for £8,554.35 from Stephen Jinks (right) from the SPAR store in Falmouth on behalf of scores of other stores throughout the south and west. SPAR stores throughout the region raised the cash for the charity when they took part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning organised by Macmillan.
Mr Lovelock said that the charity had raised £5m from tens of thousands of coffee mornings over recent years, enough to pay for 50 new Macmillan nurses.
