TIVERTON'S new community hospital opened this week, with the first transfer of patients yesterday.
Built on Kennedy Way, the hospital replaces the Victorian Tiverton and District Hospital in the centre of town and Belmont Hospital which is now closed.
The new modern hospital has 73 beds, an x-ray department, operating theatre, maternity unit and also accommodates Castle Place Surgery.
