A father's rights protestor ended his bridge protest after nearly a week.
Jolly Stanesby, a member of the pressure group Fathers 4 Justice, climbed down from the gantry over the Tamar Bridge, near Plymouth, last night.
Mr Stanesbury, 35, of Ivybridge, climbed down from the bridge late last night managing to avoid the view of the solitary police officer on duty.
The protest started last Friday when a number of protestors blocked the road bridge causing traffic tailbacks on the Devon and Cornwall sides.
A Devon and Cornwall police spokeswoman said the protestor had not been arrested, although officers planned to speak to him.
Fathers 4 Justice campaigns for equal parenting rights and a legal presumption of contact for parents and grandparents following separation or divorce.
