A post mortem examination has not identified the body of a man found on a Somerset beach, police have said.
Officers were called to Brean Down Cove near Burnham-on-Sea and discovered the corpse on the sand.
However, an initial post mortem by a Home Office Pathologist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol has not revealed an obvious cause of death.
Police are now waiting on the results of toxicology reports and say they are still keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
Officers from the Avon and Somerset Constabulary have been working with other forces in the area in efforts to identify the man.
This has included looking at missing person reports in neighbouring forces.
