THE Civil Service strike planned for this week has been suspended stopping thousands of South-West workers from a massive walkout.
Workers from Taunton Deane, Wellington, West Somerset and Devon were among thousands of staff set for the two-day strike planned for yesterday and today (Friday).
The dispute is over pay and affects the Department of Work and Pensions, the Home Office, Prison Service, Department for Constitutional Affairs and Treasury Solicitors.
But it looks as though there might be light at the end of the tunnel, as union leaders continue to talk to the Department for Work and Pensions to agree a settlement.
