EMERGENCY services were swamped with calls after an earthquake hit Somerset.
The tremor struck at 8.30pm on Thursday (Jan 26) and lasted for about a minute.
The quake was centred on North Petherton and caused the ground to shake in Taunton, Cheddon Fitzpaine, Monkton Heathfield, Bridgwater, Langport and Devon.
The Somerset County Gazette has produced an Earthquake Special, which is on sale now.
