Clinton SC A gained a point on their main rivals in the Mining Division Billiards and Snooker League on Friday, beating Four Lanes 6-0, while Redruth RBL A and Godolphin Club both won 5-1.
Mark Tregenza made breaks of 47 and a 30 clearance for Clinton A. Redruth RBL A beat Pool 5-1 with Pool's Chris Wills defeating Steve Downing for their only success. Godolphin Club (Anthony Curnow 40 break) had a similar result against Redruth British Rail, for whom Peter Bottono beat Justin Watters.
Bell's Court professional Andy Hicks equalled his own break of 101, but the rest of his team could not match his performance, losing 5-1 to Penponds. Young Symon Hosking of Penponds beat Paul Williams for a good win. Clinton B's Steve Boulton made a 51 break in their 5-1 victory over Redruth RBL C. 13-year-old Jamie Read was RBL C's only winner and looks a fine prospect.
In division two Breage hold a six point lead but have played a match more than Leedstown or Heamoor. Last week Breage beat Playing Place 5-1, with Shaun Tripconey again on form with a 40 break. Heamoor won 4-2 at St Day, where home player Chris Thomas made a 47 break and Wayne Hosking compiled breaks of 32 and a 31 clearance for the visitors. Godolphin Club completed their second successive 6-0 win against bottom team Illogan HI B.
In division three leaders Lanner extended their lead to 15 points by beating their nearest pursuers Camborne RBL 4-2. Don Levick and John Greet were the visitors' only winners.
There are now four teams in joint-second place and the runners-up spot looks wide open.
