The EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health agreed on a Commission proposal to lift the remaining 20% testing requirement of poultry meat from Thailand. This was agreed after the results of European checks were satisfactory and the relevant authority of Thailand provided all the appropriate guarantees, in particular the guarantee of a systematic pre-shipment check to control the presence of nitrofurans and other residues.
