The girlfriend of a Somerset man jailed for killing his estranged wife is offering a £5,000 reward to anyone who can prove she is still alive.

Glyn Razzell, 44, is serving a life sentence for the murder of mother-of-four Linda Razzell, who disappeared on her way to work at Swindon College in Wiltshire in March 2002.

Razzell, who denies murdering the 41-year-old, was found guilty by a jury at Bristol Crown Court in November. But no trace of Mrs Razzell's body has been found.

Rachel Smith, Razzell's girlfriend of four years, has never questioned his innocence and is now offering the reward to anyone who can prove the learning support assistant is still alive.

Miss Smith claims Mrs Razzell faked her disappearance and deliberately planted blood in Razzell's car to frame him.

She said: 'I am offering £5,000 of my own money because I think it will bring people forward who may know something about Linda's whereabouts.

'I am in no doubt that she is still alive. There is no evidence to suggest she is dead.

'I think she planned her getaway and intended to frame Glyn. There is no doubt in my mind that he is innocent. The best way of proving that is to find Linda.'

Miss Smith, of Marlborough, Wilts believes Mrs Razzell may have fled to Weston-super-Mare or France.

Razzell, a redundant investment market manager with an address in Barn Close, Crewkerne, Somerset, is waiting to hear the result of his appeal against his conviction.
