The Gulls beat Dawlish Town 4-0 at Sandy Lane on Tuesday night - with Martin Gritton the star of the show.
The fit-again striker set up Kain Bond's eighth-minute opener after a powerful run down the left before crossing in with a low drive which the first year professional tucked away from 8 yards.
Then Gritton scored twice himself, both goals solo efforts; the first on the stroke of half time and the second on the hour. Kevin Wills tucked away United's last in the final minute.
Arjan van Heusden made his first appearance following his back-spasm problems, and David Woozley captained the team, which also included Joe Broad, Tony Bedeau and Jimmy Benefield.
The Gulls face Scunthorpe at home on Saturday.
