Young people in Devon have elected three new representatives to the UK Youth Parliament with three deputies.

Devon was split into three separate areas with candidates shortlisted for each area. More than 15,000 votes were cast by young people across the county in 41 venues including schools, youth centres and colleges.

The results were:

Exeter and Southern Devon MYP - Owen Hammett, 14, of Bovey Tracey, a student at South Dartmoor Community College Deputy MYP - Grace Turner, 14, of Ivybridge, a student at Ivybridge Community College

East and Mid Devon MYP - Darren Pannell, 18, of Exmouth, a student at Exeter Business School Deputy MYP - Shane Pancherz, 17, of Tiverton, a student at Blundells School (Shane held the same position last year and was the first person to stand for re-election.)

Torridge, North and West Devon MYP - Lydia Cawsey, 15, of Bideford, a student at Bideford Community College Deputy MYP - Robyn Ough, 16, of Whiddon Down, a student at Okehampton Community College

Devon has three seats in the Youth Parliament and MYPs have to be aged between 11 and 18.
