BRIDGWATER could be transformed by a £40 million project, which would protect Sedgemoor from flooding and bring massive economic benefits to the town.
For years the idea of putting a sluice gate in the Dunball area of the River Parrett has been built up and knocked down.
But the project is closer to reality now than it has ever been, after being identified as a top priority by the district council.
