Exeter Chiefs managed a good 22-8 win over Otley in the National League First Division on Saturday. And they have now hauled themselves closer to the top six.
Above them in the same division Plymouth Albion also had a favourable result beating Orrell 22-19 at home. It was their first win over the promotion prospects in seven attempts, and it sees the Brickfield's side in a healthy fourth position.
Brixham slipped up 16-15 at Stroud in the South West Two West and in the Western Counties West Ivybridge lost 28-24 at St Ives, Newton Abbot managed a 28-7 win over St Just, and Devonport Services lost 15-13 at Wessex.
The Torbay derby between Paignton and Torquay in the division finished in a emphatic 27-6 win for Torquay - the visitors victotious.
