Plymouth City Council launched its Affordable Warmth Strategy at the Guildhall today.
Linda Gilroy, MP for Plymouth Sutton, will help launch the strategy, which aims to improve energy efficiency in the home and ensure that everyone can afford to keep warm.
Agencies from across the city and members of the local community are involved in the initiative, which promotes grants for insulation and heating, gives advice on cutting fuel bills and saving energy and helps people to access grants and benefits.
Plymouth's strategy also contains an action plan with aims and targets to achieve and is supported by SWEB and National Energy Action, the national fuel poverty charity.
Cllr Mark King, Portfolio Holder for Housing Services said: 'Improving quality of life is a key priority for the Council and we must ensure that everyone, especially our most vulnerable residents, can afford to keep warm and healthy.'
