FIFTY per cent council tax discounts for second home owners in Taunton Deane are to be axed.
Taunton Deane Council has decided those who own second homes will only be awarded a ten per cent discount from April.
Until now second homes have attracted an automatic 50 per cent discount which many people believe has forced up property prices and led to "dead villages" with many homes uninhabited much of the time.
