THE biggest civil service industrial action for 17 years could see thousands of workers from across the South-West go on strike causing massive disruption.
Workers from Mid Devon, including Job Centre staff in Tiverton, are among tens of thousands of staff set to stage a two-day walkout next week.
The pay dispute is escalating fast and so far affects the Department of Work and Pensions, the Home Office, Prison Service, Department for Constitutional Affairs and the Treasury Solicitors
The department for Work and Pensions is working on contingency plans aimed at making sure pension and benefit payments would not be affected during the strikes next Thursday and Friday.
