PLANS for the Wellington Children's Festival are gathering pace.
The Bank Holiday event on May 3 is being organised by Friends of Wellington Park and Wellington Toy Library.
And special guests for the family fun day will be Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton Deane, Cllr Andrew and Jackie Govier, together with their children.
Organisers of this special event have been impressed with the encouragement and favourable responses they have had so far.
All the day's entertainments and amusements are expected to be booked in by the middle of next month.
Letters have been sent to all schools, playgroups, youth and children's interest groups as well as local businesses, churches and other organisations, seeking their involvement, support and ideas.
Now, an appeal is going out to groups who would like to hire stalls for the event or suggest activities to get in touch as soon as possible to progress plans even further.
Ideas, donations, suggestions and offers of support for the Children's Festival are being gathered by organisers.
