WINS from Ian Williams, Steve Williams, Les Rundle and Billy Orchard helped Wendron CC increase their lead in division one of the West Cornwall Winter Pool League with a 6-3 win over the Angel.

Second placed side, Kennack A, were 3-1 up against the Godolphin Club, but the Godolphin side came back well to win 5-4 while Porthleven FC A also played well to defeat Helston RBL B 5-4. Singles winners for Porthleven were Tony Strike, Charlie and John Uren.

Three Tuns A had the biggest win of the week with an 8-1 victory over the Old Courthouse while Helston RBL A had a fine 7-2 win over the Prince of Wales.

The Coach and Horses B team started the second half of the season in style with a 9-0 whitewash over the Paris A team and now lead the division by six points.

Helston CC A are hanging on to second spot with a 7-2 win over the Crown Inn but Helston RBL C and the Bell are closing in behind. Helston RBL C defeated the Harbour 6-3 while wins from Paul Finbow, Paul Moran, Nick Hampshire, Steve Finbow and John Olympios helped the Bell to a 7-2 win over the Star.

Kennack B opened up a 2-0 lead over the Three Tuns, but the Three Tuns came back to edge the match 5-4.

The Tophouse are starting to build a lead in division three, after they defeated the Fitzsimmons B side 6-3. Kennack D remain in second despite losing 5-4 to Helston CC B. Singles winners for Helston were Ross Harkins, Ken Green, Kevin Thomas and Chris Frew.

The Fitzsimmons A team played well to defeat the Godolphin Club 6-3 while the Old Courthouse moved off the bottom with a 7-2 win over the Gweek Inn. Mounts Bay A won the last two frames to win their local derby against Mullion FC 5-4.

Wins from Ricki Smith, Richard Salter, Pete Oliver and M Alford helped the Angel to a 6-3 win over division four leaders Constantine Social Club. The Angel now trail in second by only three points but both teams have a healthy gap over third spot.

Helston RBL D had a fine 5-4 win over the Harbour while Porthleven FC B hung on to beat the White Hart 5-4.

The Beehive were looking set to win their second game of the season when they were 4-1 up against the Lion and Lamb, but another poor doubles performance saw them lose the match 5-4 after the Lion and Lamb struck back with four successive win.
