I see from your article on page 3 last week that Carrick district council has been advised to approve plans to build wind turbines on Jubilee Wharf, Penryn, despite the town council - elected to put forward the views of local residents - objecting to the scheme. Obviously no regard is being given to any local opposition.
Many schemes have been put forward for "the regeneration of Penryn" and one point on which they have been unanimous is "the need to strengthen and maintain Penryn's historic links with the river,"
So, what do we have? Fifty-foot wind turbines at this key location, with their visual intrusion and constant noise. Hardly in keeping with the conservation area!
Let's join the fight which seems to be raging across much of the Westcountry and say "no" to these blots on our lovely landscape.
