THE DEATH toll has fallen on Somerset's roads, new figures have revealed.
Police have announced the number of fatalities in the Avon and Somerset area in 2003 was the lowest for five years.
In 76 collisions during 2003, 80 people lost their lives - a reversal of a trend which has seen a steady increase in the annual death toll from 83 in 1999 to a peak of 106 in 2001
